Some establishments add a 10-15 % charge to the bill. When the tip is not Gratuity Tipsded, tip as you would in the U.S. Tipping is not permitted at all-inclusive resorts.
Taxes and VATS
There is a 10%, per night government room tax. The departure tax payable at the airport is $26 - which is generally included in your airfare, but check with the airline before you leave.
Banks, Credit Cards, ATMs
MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club and Visa are all widely accepted.
Clothing Requirements
Casual resort-wear is appropriate for daytime, although swim wear is frowned upon in town. In the evenings, some fine restaurants require elegant attire: sport coats for men and dresses or skirts and blouses for women. Generally, the summer season is more casual than the winter season, and the smaller resort areas have more casual dress codes than the larger ones.
Lightweight cottons and linens; light woolens are advised for evenings. Avoid synthetics. Waterproofing is necessary all year round.
