Currency
The unit of currency is the Bermuda dollar (B$), which is divided into 100 cents. Bills are available in B$2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100, coins in denominations of 1, 5, 10, and 25 cents, and B$1. Most merchants accept both dollars at equal value as payment .

Gratuity Tips
In some cases there is a service charge of 15% added to hotel and restaurant bills. If not, a tip of 15% is customary.

Taxes and VATS
Expect to pay a departure tax of B$20 if flying out of the country, or B$60 if leaving Bermuda by ship. A hotel tax of 7.25 % is added to the cost of all accommodations.

Banks, Credit Cards, ATMs
Banks are open 9:30 AM to 3 PM Monday thru Thursday, and 9:30 AM to 3 PM and 4:30 to 5:30 PM on Friday.
Credit cards are accepted at most large hotels, shops, and restaurants. Traveler's checks in U.S. dollars are a widely accepted form of payment.

Driver License Requirements
No rental cars are available to drive; most visitors use taxis, buses, ferries, and motor scooters to get around.

Clothing Requirements
Lightweight clothing such as shorts, t-shirts, and sundresses. Bermuda has no rainy season and hurricanes seldom strike the island, so no raincoats required here!
