Lying on the Cape Peninsula, the vibrant city of Cape Town is one of South Africa’s most popular honeymoon destinations. Home to both a beautiful harbor and the famed Table Mountain, Cape Town boasts a great climate and breathtaking environment. It's also home to beautiful beaches and a vibrant nightlife for those who like a good party. No honeymoon to South Africa would be complete without spending a little (or a lot) time in Cape Town.

Highlights
Cape Town offers some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. And, the combination of influences from both the Atlantic and Indian Ocean result in two very different styles of beaches on either side of the Cape.
Activities
Cape Town offers a variety of activities ranging from:
  • Great white shark safaris
  • Nature Reserves
  • Castle Tours
  • Hiking and Mountain climbing
  • Swimming, Surfing and Beaches
  • Golf
  • Shopping, Dining and Music
Although Cape Town is a great destination on its own, visitors also enjoy easy access to other great destinations and day trips. Visit the Cape Winelands, the self-driving Garden Route, and local beaches.
  • Cape Town is the starting point for the beautiful Garden Route self driving tour. The Garden route features whale watching, beautiful forests and eclectic beach towns along the way.
  • The Cape Winelands are the largest wine producing region in Africa and are divided into six main regions, each offering their own unique wine route.
Climate and Weather
Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate but as is common in ocean cities such as San Diego, it is cooler than other Mediterranean cities due to the cool current from Antarctica in the Atlantic Ocean. In summer it is usually pleasantly warm. It seldom rains in summer, and only briefly when it does. The winters are cool and wet, but the temperature is mild.
