Kenya

Kenya pioneered the African safari and still holds Karen Blixen’s Out of Africa charm, with its unmistakable scenery and warm, friendly inhabitants. The country is also famous for the greatest concentration of free-ranging wildlife on earth, its brilliant, white sand beaches, and the proud Maasai people. Kenya has considerable land area devoted to wildlife habitats, including the Masai Mara, where Blue Wildebeest and other bovids participate in a large scale annual migration in the search for food and water (June-Sept). Up to a quarter million blue wildebeest perish each year in the long and arduous journey. The "Big Five" animals of Africa, the lion, leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros and elephant, can be found in Kenya and in the Masai Mara in particular along with a significant population of other wild animals, reptiles and birds in the national parks and game reserves.

The US State Department issued a Travel Warning on January 14, 2013.
