Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is the capital and the largest city of Malaysia. It is the fastest growing metropolitan region in the country. The city has grown from a small sleepy Chinese tin-mining village to a bustling metropolis of around 6.5 million (city-proper population of 1.6 million) in just 150 years. Travelers are discovering this gem with amazing shopping, food nightlife and the world's cheapest 5-star hotels. A great way to discover the multicultural flair of the city is by wandering the streets randomly . . . seeing, shopping and eating while discovering new areas. The City Centre and Golden Triangle are good districts to start with. Honeymooners may want to get oriented at 276 meters from the Menara Tower, visit some of the good theatres KL has to offer and take advantage of the many spas, reflexology and foot massage centers in the Golden Triangle. An escape from the city sounds can be found in the city’s lush parks or in the countryside in the surrounding state of Selangor.
