There are many short walks on the shores and mountainside to open your eyes to the ever changing flora and unique species of Tasmania. You may glimpse a platypus, wombat or echidna as you go from the cascading rivers into the rainforest on the Enchanted Walk. Nature has carved such beauty in this area.
Launceston offers the calm of the Tamar River and Tamar Island is a paradise for birds. The wetlands offer them their own habitat. Notley Gorge is a dense rainforest with waterfalls and deep fern glades. You can take a boat trip to view an Australian fur seal colony or see the little penguins nesting in the coastal scrub at Low Head.
