Tasmania is an island state of Australia south of Melbourne. It is one of the places in Australia I feel comfortable driving, even though it is on the opposite side of the road, because there is very little traffic there. If you don't want to drive, there are some tours covering the highlights of Tasmania. Food on Tasmania is wonderful: cheeses, seafood and wine are a highlight.

If you like seclusion, pristine beaches, waterfalls, nature, and seeing animals (koalas, kangaroos, tiny penguins, platypus) in the wild, you might want to include Tasmania as one of your Down Under stops on your honeymoon.
