Think romance, think Paris. If you are considering a European honeymoon, Paris usually hits the top of the list. Paris has it all - food, the Eiffel Tower, boat rides on the Seine, food, the Mona Lisa and the rest of the Louvre, Champs Elysees, food, fashion, Sacre Coeur, Pere La Chaisse Cemetery, food.

Picture yourself in a cafe, Deux Magots with the Parisians. It is late afternoon. You are enjoying a glass of wine and discussing your day. Moule et frites or fromage? You went up the Eiffel Tower and took in the overview of the city in the morning. From there you walked down the river to see Notre Dame in the morning light and enjoyed the river views. You wandered the left bank and found a great bistro for lunch and stopped at Bertillion for the best ice cream in Paris. You strolled through the Luxembourg Gardens and here you are sitting at the cafe. And it is just your first day!

Tomorrow you will tackle the Louvre and either go to the Lido show or do the night rollerblade skate.

The next day you head out to Versailles to tour the gardens and walk through the Hall of Mirrors. This is a magical place and it is easy to imagine yourself in an empire gown dancing in the ballroom.

There is more to see and experience in the city and more to see in the surrounding area. A trip down to the Loire Valley and the magnificent chateaux is worth a couple of days. Or if you are history buff, head up to Normany and its beach battlefields.

No matter which direction you choose or how long you have, a honeymoon in Paris is an extremely romantic way to start your life together.
