I had a great time! The weather was cloudy, windy and rainy just about every day, but it was such a great experience seeing both Cancun and the Riviera Maya. This was my first time to Mexico, so i'm very greatful to have had the opportunity to be part of the American Vacations FAM in December 2007. We visited a number of nice properties in both Cancun and the Riviera Maya. We visited the Crown Paradise Club Cancun, Hyatt Cancun, Le Blanc Spa & Resort, Hilton Cancun, Presidente Intercontinental, Ceiba Del Mar, The Faimont Mayakoba, to name a few...Most all of the properties have been referbished and back to normal after the hurricane, so I would not hesiate to book either of these destinations. The host resort was the Omni Cancun and Villas AI, which was very nice. Although I was not in an oceanview room, the view of the lagoon was not bad. The location of the Omni isn't in the heart of Cancun's nightlife, shopping, etc, so depending on what your interests are, this could be an ideal spot to vacation. The Omni has a massive beachfront jacuzzi with a swim up bar which was the place to be! The beach was great with great service as well.

We also had a night cruise (booze cruise) with dancers and loud music and entertainment (and plenty of drinks) to Isla Mujeres where dinner and a show was provided. Other than the weather, I cannot complain at all about this trip. I learned a lot about the area and got first-hand knowledge of the resorts. I feel very strong about the advice I can provide my clients who are interested with this destination.
