My Reviews

Treasure Cay, Abaco

If your honeymoon dream includes powder white sand and turquoise blue water, with some fishing, snorkeling or diving thrown in, then you can’t go wrong with the quiet little Out Islands of the Bahamas...including Abaco.

We visited Abaco’s Treasure Cay Resort in the “shoulder season” (October) and it was peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. The two main attractions at this resort are the 3.5 mile beach (with its talcum powder sand, and its consistent rating as one of the top ten beaches in the world) and the fishing, and we took advantage of both!

It’s a short hop from Ft. Lauderdale to the Treasure Cay airport, and a quick cab ride to the resort itself, and once you’re there you need never leave. They have several restaurants/bars, a pool, a 150-slip marina, an 18-hole golf course, and a little “village” complete with a grocery store and a café selling the best sticky buns we’ve ever had! This is not the place for wild nightlife, but if you want to lie on the beach, spend some time in, on and under the water, and maybe play a few rounds of golf, you can’t go wrong.
